On the morning of May 9, 2022, Scott Thomas Lograsso, 38 years young, was murdered outside of his apartment in the 3000 block of Regency Court in North Ames. He died of “multiple gunshot wounds” at approximately 4:30 am in the morning in the parking lot adjacent to his apartment.
Scott was well known in the community and freely interacted with a broad range of friends and acquaintances. He was a graduate of Ames High School and DMACC. He loved dirt track racing and was quite successful in building and racing his stock cars.
Ames law enforcement continues to look for tips or anything that somebody may have seen or heard.

Material Witness warrant

Des Moines Police Department detectives are requesting the community’s assistance with locating a person in connection with this investigation.
A Material Witness warrant has been obtained for 54-year-old Des Moines resident Scott L. Lowery. Lowery is approximately 5’10” tall, and weighs approximately 190 lbs. Attached is a photo of Lowery. Lowery is believed to be driving a blue-colored, 2006 Jeep Commander, Iowa license plate MNP 490.
Attached is a photo of the vehicle. Des Moines Police Department detectives believe that Lowery has information that is critical to moving this investigation forward.

Shooting Suspect

DMPD detectives are requesting the community’s assistance with identifying a suspect in a recent shooting incident.
On March 19, a shooting incident occurred at Whiskey River, 2301 Ingersoll. Two adult males were injured in this incident. Both are recovering.
DMPD detectives have interviewed witnesses and examined evidence, including surveillance video. Through the course of the investigation, the person pictured here has been identified as a suspect in the shooting.

BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT

DMPD detectives are requesting the community’s assistance with identifying a bank robbery suspect.
Shortly before 5pm on 26 Jan, the Metro Credit Union in the 100 blk of University Ave was robbed. Five days later, shortly before 2pm, the Central Bank in the 3400 blk of Ingersoll was robbed. Fortunately, no employees or customers were physically injured in either incident. The suspect did indicate that he was armed.
Surveillance images of the suspect from each robbery appear to be the same person.

HOMICIDE ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY

Jonathan Bautista, and his sister, Jasmin Bautista, were arrested last night by WDMPD officers on their outstanding material witness warrants.
Today, DMPD detectives have charged both with Murder - 1st Degree in the 31 Aug 21 shooting death of Javier Wilson-Moncada.
These arrests bring the DMPD 2021 homicide clearance rate to 100%, and most importantly, a healing step forward for the friends and family of Javier.
Detectives are requesting the community’s assistance with identifying a third person believed to be connected to this case. WANTED PERSON / SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

DMPD detectives are requesting the community’s assistance with locating a wanted person.
20-yr-old Des Moines resident Andrew Gordon Meyer has active, felony level, drug-related arrest warrants, and has been identified as having important knowledge of the circumstances in the 09 January shooting of a 24-yr-old male in the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.
Meyer is described as 5’7” tall, weighing approximately 150 lbs., with brown hair and blue eyes.

Missing Child

11 year old Xavior Harrelson was last seen at 510 North Front Street in Montezuma Iowa on or about May 27th, 2021. Xavior is 4’ 9” tall, weighs 100 lbs, and has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about the disappearance of Xavior is asked to call the Poweshiek County Sheriff’s office tip line at 641-623-2107 or Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa at 515-223-1400.
Community members and local businesses have established an additional reward fund for information leading to the resolution of this case.
Neil Darrell - Attempted murder

Des Moines Police Department detectives have issued arrest warrants related to this investigation. The community’s assistance is being requested in locating the wanted suspect. 26-year-old Cedar Rapids resident Neil Darrell Clark has the following active arrest warrants:
• Attempted Murder
• Willful Injury (two counts)
• Intimidation With A Dangerous Weapon 2
Detectives have information that indicates Clark has fled the state.

Wanted - Child Endangerment & Neglect

Ericka Lynn Rankins is currently wanted on warrants for:
• Child Endangerment (9 counts)
• Neglect or Abandonment of a Dependent Child (2 counts)
The victims connected to these charges are multiple, minor aged, children of Rankins. At this time, no charges have been filed in connection with the ongoing death investigation.
To date, Rankins has declined to surrender to detectives, and she has avoided arrest. Detectives are requesting the community’s assistance in locating Rankins.
